All our services at Trinity are special because, as we gather around Word and Sacrament, God is present in our midst and our lives are renewed. Yet throughout the year there are special occasions and celebrations that we observe together. Of course, the festivals and seasons of the church year — Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost and Thanksgiving, are marked by special times of worship and praise. Additionally, there are commemorations and worship events throughout the year that recognize God’s goodness in our lives.
Blessing of Animals (October 8)
Worshipers are invited to bring photos of their pets, which will be used in the Children’s Sermon as we ask God’s blessings on our animal companions and pray that we would be good stewards of all of life.
Prayer Shawl Awareness (October 15)
We thank God for the ministry of our Covenant Prayer Shawl group as we think about ways we wrap one another in the love of God.
Ecumenical Reformation Service (October 22 at 3:00 PM)
St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St. Alban’s Drive Sinking Spring
Come experience a special Worship Service of Word and Music for the commemoration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. Leaders from the Roman Catholic, Methodist, UCC/Reformed, Episcopal and Lutheran traditions have joined together to plan this special service and invite all to attend. Music will play a large part in this service and will be led by a large festival choir!
Festive Reformation Service featuring the Hymns of Martin Luther (October 29 at 11:00 AM)
On commemoration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, our liturgy this day will be made up of the hymns of Martin Luther, sung by both the choir and the congregation. There will be no 8:30 service this day.
All Saints Sunday (November 5)
We give thanks for the saints of God, especially our own departed loved ones who now rejoice in heaven with the Lord. Members are invited to bring framed photos of departed loved ones to church or the office from October 15-22. Make sure they are clearly labeled with your name and phone number and the name of those pictured, along with their relationship to you. These will be displayed around the perimeter of the Nave as a reminder that we are surrounded by the love and memories of God’s saints.
Youth Sunday (November 12 at 11:00 AM)
The youth of St. Mark are planning this service and taking leadership roles. We thank God for our young people and their families and faith mentors. A simple 8:30 service will be held in the chapel.
Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 23 at 10:00 AM)
We give thanks for God’s many blessings in this community service. Invite your friends. All are welcome!
Common Ground Recovery worship continues to meet through the summer at 4:00 PM each Sunday in the Auditorium. This meaningful service of Word, Sacrament, Meal and healing conversation is open to the entire community, including all members of Trinity. Experience God’s grace in a new way through Common Ground.
