All our services at Trinity are special because, as we gather around Word and Sacrament, God is present in our midst and our lives are renewed. Yet throughout the year there are special occasions and celebrations that we observe together. Of course, the festivals and seasons of the church year — Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost and Thanksgiving, are marked by special times of worship and praise. Additionally, there are commemorations and worship events throughout the year that recognize God’s goodness in our lives.
With Awe and Love: A Midweek Lent Series based on Luther’s Small Catechism (Wednesdays at 12:05)
Join us at 12:05 p.m. in the chapel each Wednesday in Lent. Receive the gift of Holy Communion and center yourself in the truths of Luther’s Small Catechism. Services last about 30 minutes, allowing worshipers to come over their lunch hour! Soup lunches will follow worship each week, along with further discussion of the week’s topic.

April 5: Holy Communion
Sunday of the Passion (April 9)
After joyfully processing with Palms to remember Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, our worship quickly shifts focus to the suffering and death of the blessed One who comes in the name of the Lord.
Maundy Thursday (April 13 at 7:00 PM)
On the night he was betrayed, Jesus showed his love by washing the feet of his disciples and by giving them the gift of his body and blood in the first Communion. We mark this night with a ceremonial washing of our children’s feet (parents — no need to wash ahead of time, but please send your children forward for the foot washing either barefoot or with sandals). We will also receive the same gift of Christ’s body and blood as we partake of this great gift of life. The service concludes with a stripping of the Altar in preparation for Good Friday.
Good Friday (April 14 noon-3:00 PM)
Jesus’ seven last words from the cross are remembered through a seven-part worship experience, each with moving music and a different preacher helping us meditate on the three hours our Lord hung on the cross. Worshipers are welcome to come and go throughout the service as your time allows.
Easter Vigil (Saturday, April 15 at Christ Episcopal)
Each year Trinity joins our covenant congregation in an Easter Vigil, recounting stories of salvation from the Old Testament (Hebrew Scripture) and culminating in a reading of the Easter Gospel. The service begins by gathering around a fire in the cemetery and continues with dramatic renderings of the stories of God’s deliverance. This year, we meet at Christ Episcopal.
The Resurrection of Our Lord (April 16)
Alleluia! Christ is risen! A full festival service for Easter Sunday is offered in the Nave at both 8:30 and 11:00, with breakfast and an Easter egg hunt in between.
Music Ministry Sunday (April 30)
Trinity’s choirs and other musicians lead us in a celebration of God’s gift of music and praise! This is a service not to be missed.
Jazz Sunday (May 21)
Guest musician Lars Potteiger provides special music and jazz accompaniment.
