John writes, “The Word became flesh and lived among us.”
What a precious gift that God would take on our humanity in Jesus Christ! God knows what it is to laugh and to cry; to celebrate and to grieve; to experience hunger and to feast on good things; to believe and to doubt; to live and to die. In the midst of life, God has proclaimed that there is nothing stronger than God’s love through Jesus Christ.
We believe that Jesus, God’s living Word, continues to live among us today. As a congregation of God’s people, it is our privilege to remind each other and the world of God’s activity in our midst. Here at Trinity, I have heard God speak through Scripture and music that lift me heavenward. I have felt God’s touch through caring people who knit, bake and care for those in need. I have seen God’s love in generations of families who support each other and who work together to help others. I have tasted God’s grace through Holy Communion. I have smelled God’s compassion in meals prepared for the hurting and homeless.
God is never confined to a building or an organization, but in the church, God’s life is revealed in wonderful ways as we focus intentionally on the grace and beauty of God’s living presence. I invite you to join us at Trinity for worship, service to our community, and spiritual nourishment. If you have questions about our faith community or about Jesus’ presence in your life, I am always available for conversation and prayer.
May God’s living presence bless you and keep you.
