All our services at Trinity are special because, as we gather around Word and Sacrament, God is present in our midst and our lives are renewed. Yet throughout the year there are special occasions and celebrations that we observe together. Of course, the festivals and seasons of the church year — Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost and Thanksgiving, are marked by special times of worship and praise. Additionally, there are commemorations and worship events throughout the year that recognize God’s goodness in our lives.
Common Ground Recovery Ministry
Common Ground Recovery worship continues to meet at 4:00 PM each Sunday in the Auditorium. This meaningful service of Word, Sacrament, Meal and healing conversation is open to the entire community, including all members of Trinity. Experience God’s grace in a new way through Common Ground.
Easter and Holy Week Worship
In Holy Week, Trinity joins Christians throughout the world in praising God for our great salvation, won through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Join us for the many worship opportunities of these holy days to give thanks to God and to have your own spirit nurtured and inspired by the story of God’s amazing love.
Palm Sunday / The Sunday of the Passion (April 14)
At our 11:00 worship, we will begin with a procession of palms and then share together Walter Wangerin’s beautiful congregational reading, The Cry of the Whole Congregation. This moving drama, complete with music, a dancer and drums, invites us to participate in the story of Jesus’ suffering and death. The spoken 8:30 service will include the blessing of palms and a reading of the Passion according to Luke. Join us for our annual community prayer walk between services.
Maundy Thursday (April 18 at 7:30)
On the night Jesus commanded us to love one another as he has loved us, we will perform liturgical foot washing, share the Sacrament of Holy Communion, instituted on this night Jesus was betrayed, and perform the ceremonial stripping of the altar as Jesus prepares to lay down his life for sinners.
Good Friday (April 19 from noon-3:00)
We focus on the seven last words of Jesus, spoken from the cross, with seven preachers interpreting Christ’s words, and choral meditations supporting our hymns, prayers and reflections. You are invited to come for all or any portion of this service. Worshipers come and go throughout.
The Resurrection of Lord (April 21)
Our festive Easter worship embraces the joy and beauty of Christ’s resurrection as we celebrate the hope that is ours! Both the 8:30 and 11:00 services will be held in the Nave, with a wonderful Easter breakfast and a fun Easter egg hunt for the children starting around 10:15 (bring a basket or bag for your eggs!)..
Music Ministry Sunday (April 28)
We celebrate the talent and dedication of Trinity’s choirs in this music-filled service. Praise God through the gift of song and show your appreciation for those who give so much to make our worship meaningful.
Summer Schedule Begins Memorial Day Weekend
Beginning May 26, we return to our Summer schedule, with a single worship service offered at 9:30 AM in the Nave.
Covenant Sunday (June 2)
We welcome our friends from Christ Episcopal Church as we renew our ecumenical covenant to be companions in ministry. A reception will follow.
Pentecost Sunday (June 9)
The gift of the Holy Spirit is celebrated with flame, wind, different languages, festive activities, a geranium garden, pinwheels, and creative arts as we thank God for bringing us together through the reconciliation of the Spirit. Wear red!
