Pastor Tom Reinsel, Amy Stewart-Himes, Dave Himes, and Karen Eddinger have envisioned an Advent season with intentional quiet for contemplation. Each Sunday we will begin in silence with lights dimmed. Singing bells will invite us into our time of worship. A lit candle will be processed for placement in our Advent wreath as a soloist sings an ancient chant. A stanza of Let All Mortal Flesh will lead us into our readings and sermon. Look for other hymns that will be used throughout the season as our Gospel acclamation and offertory. The service will end with a quiet postlude, reminding us to breathe and still our hearts and minds in preparation for the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
