
Cameron Wentz
Dr. Cameron Wentz is a composer, church musician, and educator originally from York County, Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir College having studied composition with Benjamin C.S. Boyle and organ with Alan Morrison. He completed his Master of Music degree at The Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University studying composition with Michael Hersch and organ with John Walker. After pursuing further graduatestudies in the United Kingdom, studying composition with Rob Keeley and Edward Nesbit at King’s College London, Cameron returned to the US to complete his doctorate at the University of Maryland studying composition and theory with Thomas DeLio.
He has served at churches in the US and UK, including Director of Music at St John the Divine in the Richmond suburb of London, and at the historic Christ Lutheran Church in Gettysburg. As an Educator he worked as a teaching assistant at Kings College London and taught undergraduate courses in aural skills at the University of Maryland. Currently Cameron teaches musicianship & ear training for the
National Children’s Chorus and is finishing his time as Associate Director of Music at The Reformed Church of Bronxville in New York.
Cameron and his husband Jorge spent 2 years in the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan before moving out to Yonkers this summer. They look forward to their relocation to the Reading area!
