Join Pastor Hans on Tuesday nights in Lent (7:00 PM to 8:30 PM) for a study of David Zahl’s book Seculosity: How Career, Parenting, Technology, Food, Politics, and Romance Became Our New Religion and What to Do About It.
Americans are perfectionistic–and you probably fit that mold, too. While we talk a lot about how our society has become secular, author David Zahl thinks that we’ve simply shifted our religious impulse to other things (which happen to be graceless). How can we share God’s good news of freedom and grace to this world of performativity and perfection? Zahl will give us some ideas.
After around 70 minutes of discussion in the Hintz Room, we’ll conclude the evening by praying Compline together in our chapel.
Still unsure? Read a review in Lutheran Forum.
Sign up for the study by contacting Rachel Gambone by phone or email. A book will be ordered for you by Trinity and will be available for pickup no later than Wednesday, March 5th (which is Ash Wednesday). A free-will offering will be taken at the first session to defray the cost of the books and freight.
