We are a Lutheran church, which means we believe in the immensity of God’s grace, forgiveness, and love.

Many churches are known for moralizing or for drawing sharp lines in the sand, but Lutherans believe that it is only through faith in God that any of us receive God’s favor. This means that there’s nothing that we can do that will separate us from God’s love–which frees us up to focus on praising and thanking God while making our world a better place.

We welcome those whose faith is firm and secure–and those with more questions than answers.

We welcome those who are struggling–and those who feel like life is going well.

We welcome gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender folks–as well as cisgender and heterosexual people. (We’ve been an affirming congregation for decades, and participate in the larger movement for inclusion through ReconcilingWorks.)

We welcome Republicans, Democrats, independents–and those who are sick of politics.

We welcome people who are new to Berks County, regardless of their race or origin–and those who have been here for generations.

We welcome long-time Christians–and those who are just beginning to explore faith in Jesus.

We welcome people who haven’t ever heard of Martin Luther–and those who have every word of his Small Catechism memorized.

We welcome those who are single, divorced, or widowed–as well as married couples and families of all shapes and sizes.

No matter where you are on your journey of life, you are invited to explore faith with us here. Despite our differences, visible and invisible, our unity is in Christ.
